About Heather
Writer · Editor · Publisher · Educator · Program & Learning Strategist · Creative Arts Practitioner
I’m Heather Robinson Hernandez — a writer, editor, publisher, program and learning systems strategist, leadership development coach, and creative arts practitioner.
My work brings together creativity, learning, leadership, communication, and well-being. Across writing, publishing, coaching, consulting, facilitation, healing arts, and program design, I create spaces and systems that help individuals, teams, and organizations align with their values, strengthen connection, and grow with clarity and care.
At the center of my practice is the belief that creativity is not limited to artists. Creativity is a way of thinking, learning, adapting, healing, and making meaning. It supports attention, reflection, communication, emotional integration, and connection with ourselves and others.
With more than twenty years of experience across federal service, higher education, nonprofits, arts and culture, literary publishing, and community-based work, I design and support programs, learning experiences, partnerships, and reflective practices that help people and organizations move from vision to meaningful action.
I serve as Editor-in-Chief and Publisher of Red River Review, a literary arts journal supporting poetry, prose, visual work, creative practice, and literary community. I am also a Colorado Creative Industries Change Leader, and my work includes program and learning design for creative placemaking, rural arts advocacy, leadership development, and community engagement initiatives.
My creative practice spans creative nonfiction, poetry, essays, journalism, collage, mixed media, and book arts. I am also a Reiki Master and healing arts practitioner, integrating mindfulness, energy-centered practices, and reflective tools that support grounding, self-awareness, restoration, and renewal.
Across all areas of my work, I am guided by one intention: to create thoughtful pathways where people can align, create, connect, and thrive.
