How I Work

How I Work

A values-based approach to creativity, leadership, and well-being.

My work brings together creativity, reflection, emotional intelligence, leadership development, program and learning design, and healing-centered practices.

At the core is a simple idea: people and organizations do not grow through information alone. Growth also requires space to reflect, understand what matters, strengthen relationships, try new approaches, and build the support needed to sustain change.

Whether I am working through consulting, coaching, facilitation, writing, creative practice, or healing arts, I adapt the process to the people and context involved. The goal is not to apply one fixed method, but to help create greater clarity, connection, creativity, and sustainable progress.

The work is organized around four interconnected areas: Align, Create, Connect, and Thrive.

Align

Self-awareness, values, healing, and emotional intelligence

Alignment begins with paying attention to what is present, understanding what matters, and reconnecting with the values, needs, and strengths that can guide meaningful action.

This may include reflective practice, emotional intelligence, mindfulness, grounding practices, Reiki, values clarification, personal alignment, or organizational alignment.

Create

Writing, art-making, learning, and meaningful expression

Creativity is not limited to artists. It can help people think differently, process experience, solve problems, imagine possibilities, and make meaning.

This may include writing, storytelling, visual art, collage, book arts, creative prompts, program design, learning experiences, neuroarts-informed practice, creative aging, and reflective inquiry.

Connect

Communication, leadership, relationships, and community

Connection grows through clear communication, trust, and strong relationships. This part of the work focuses on helping people listen well, work together, navigate differences, and build stronger connections within teams, organizations, and communities.

This may include coaching, leadership development, facilitation, team communication, stakeholder engagement, community dialogue, editorial exchange, and partnership-building.

Thrive

Sustainable growth, purposeful work, and long-term impact

Thriving is not about doing more all the time. It is about creating ways of working and living that can be sustained over time.

This may include strategic planning, organizational development, program implementation, evaluation, professional development, wellness practices, creative business support, and strengthening organizational capacity.

Why This Matters

Change is rarely only practical. It is also emotional, relational, creative, and human.

People and organizations need ways to think clearly, stay connected, make meaning, and move forward without losing sight of what matters.

Soulful Living with Heather brings creativity, leadership, reflection, and well-being together rather than treating them as separate concerns. The aim is to create conditions where people can listen more deeply, strengthen relationships, adapt with greater awareness, and build lives, work, and communities that are more grounded, sustainable, and alive.
